Just went to the Night Owl Lounge (formerly the Rabbit Hole) last night, and it was the best hookah bar I've been to in Seattle. Located at 4701 Roosevelt Way NE in the U District, this place is awesome. From the vibrant spray painted murals of Seattle on the wall to the speedy service, the Night Owl is an awesome hookah bar.
Compared to the old hookahs bars in the Seattle (Zanias etc.), the Night Owl wins hands down. Time stands still when your loungin at the Night Owl...I was there with 4 friends last night until 1:30 in the morning. The prices weren't too bad for a hookah, they offer a wide variety of tobacco flavors, and use high quality hookahs/coals (non-self starting). If you and your friends are looking for something to do at night that's chill and relaxing, I highly recommend checking out the Night Owl Lounge. Cheers!

They sidestep the smoking ban because everyone who comes in has to pay a $5 one-time membership fee. You get a membership card, and through the membership basically are agreeing that you don't mind being exposed to indoor smoking (cause that smoking ban is bullshit for hookah lounges). Think they said they were open every day from 8 till 2 or somethin. Cool place man, check it out. -

Thu, June 25, 2009 - 12:20 PMI don't smoke. The private club allowing smoking thing didn't work with the goth club on Capitol Hill, I'm sure this hippie place will get busted for it too. The smoking ban is more about the employees that work there, it doesn't matter what the customers are OK with. -

We had a friend bring one to dinner and I gave it a shot and it was surprisingly smooth - nothing like cigarettes at all! It's more like flavored air... if that make any sense. I'm not saying that this doesn't make it equally as harmful as a cigarette, but it sure doesn't feel like it (or taste like it) and the house wasn't "smoky" either.

Who else smokes hookas in America besides hippies and burning man neo-hippies? The couple BM parties I've been to have often had a room full of white people sitting around on pillows smoking on a hookah. I'm not knockin' it, I've joined in to try it out, but it always seems very hippie to me. -
